Vida Thompson Hood, 93, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Saturday (July 24, 2010) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was born in Scott County, Virginia and resided most of her life in Kingsport.

Surviving are her husband, Bobby Hood; a sister, Ruth Perry (Fort Blackmore, VA); a brother, William O. Thompson (Rye Cove, VA); ten grandchildren along with several great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday (July 29, 2010) at 11 a.m. at the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Elder Cecil Kern officiating.

Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Hood family.
