Lassie Doreen Mumpower Green, 86, of Kingsport passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Church Hill Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Church Hill, TN.
She was born in Washington County, Virginia (Bristol) and lived in Kingsport since 1954. She was a member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Forrest Green; her parents, Jackson S. and Trula Faulkner Mumpower; two sisters, Lydia Bush and Mary Gambill; and three brothers, Paul Mumpower, Bill Mumpower and Fred Mumpower.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Kay Foster & husband, Dan of Rainbow Lake, NY; son, Dick Green & wife, Glenda of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Zula Butt of Kingsport, Ann Kirby of Church Hill and Marcia Kief of IL; a brother, Clyde Mumpower of Hartwell, GA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11am to 12 noon on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Funeral Services will follow in the chapel at 12 noon with Pastor Randy Lantz, officiating. Music will be provided by Carl Seaver.
Burial will follow in the American Legion Cemetery, Big Stone Gap, VA (Powell Valley). Pallbearers will be Barry Mumpower, Larry Gilson, Tim Butt, Bret Foster, Dane Foster, and Lee Green.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Church Hill Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, for their excellent staff and to all the employees for their care and devotion to our Mom and Sister.
